The Ukrainian fencing team has matched its national record for the number of medals at the European Fencing Championships.
The team won five medals at the 2026 continental championship held in the French city of Antony.
Olha Sopit won gold in the individual foil event.
The bronze medals were won by:
Alina Komashchuk – sabre (individual event);
Yevhen Makienko, Mykhailo Krasniuk, Roman Svichkar, and Nikita Koshman – épée (team event);
Daria Myroniuk, Alina Polozliuk, Olha Sopit, and Kristina Petrova – foil (team event);
Olena Kryvytska, Yana Shemiakina, Anna Maksymenko, and Inna Brovko – épée (team event).
As a result of the 2026 European Fencing Championships, Ukraine finished fourth in the medal standings. Italy topped the table with seven medals: four gold, one silver, and two bronze.
