Nearly 300 new gas wells have been drilled in Ukraine during the full-scale war. Of these, approximately 70 have been drilled this year alone. Leading this effort is UkrGasVydobuvannya, with positive dynamics also observed among independent companies.

The significant number of new wells demonstrates that extractors continue to invest and strive to strengthen the industry.

"The importance of Ukrainian gas today cannot be overstated. The realities of the third year of war show that this resource is critically necessary not only for successfully navigating winter but also for covering the deficit in electricity. State-owned companies and businesses are focusing on autonomy—gas power stations," emphasized Executive Director Artem Petrenko during the IV Energy Law Conference.

He noted plans by Western Gas Service, Ukrnafta, Ukrzaliznytsia, Epicenter, Nova Poshta, and others to build their own generation capabilities.

"For such projects to be realized and operate fully in the future, Ukraine needs to increase its gas production. Therefore, further investment attraction, exploration of new areas, implementation of PSA and other oil and gas projects, are not just strategic tasks for strengthening energy security, but also crucial conditions to withstand and triumph in this war," emphasized the UkrGasVydobuvannya leader.
