In Ukraine, the ground platform “Gnome” has been tested, armed with anti-tank grenade launchers and a machine gun, as reported by Militarny.
The company TEMERLAND explained that the ground drone is designed to provide fire support to the soldiers.
The drone is also equipped with a system for dropping mines, capable of laying anti-tank mines.
“It is not only a fire support platform but also a platform for dropping mines, transporting the wounded, and clearing anti-personnel mines,” the company stated.
The tests were conducted before its deployment to the front line, where the military will evaluate the drone.
According to the developers' concept, the “Gnome” will increase the degree of non-contact combat operations and, as a result, reduce the level of losses due to the possibility of remote control.
The drone weighs 88 kilograms and can reach a speed of 5.5 km/h.
Its payload capacity is 40 kg, and the control range is up to 2000 meters.
“A modification with four RPG-7s is also possible, along with the ability to deploy two TM-62 mines and one MON-90 mine on the ground,” the manufacturers explained. The heavy directional anti-personnel mine MON-90 has a total weight of 12.1 kg, while the TM-62 anti-tank mine weighs up to 10 kg.
TEMERLAND also noted that their drones are capable of operating under the influence of electronic warfare systems.
