The State and State-Guaranteed Debt of Ukraine as of June 30, 2024, amounted to UAH 6 trillion 168 billion, or $152.16 billion.
This information was reported by the Ministry of Finance.
In June 2024, the debt increased by UAH 52.71 billion in hryvnia equivalent and by $1.16 billion in dollar equivalent. Since the beginning of the year, the national debt has risen by $6.84 billion.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the debt is primarily growing due to increased long-term concessional financing from international partners. The majority of Ukraine's debt consists of loans obtained from international financial institutions and other countries' governments.
In June, Ukraine received $2.02 billion from the European Union under the Ukraine Facility instrument.
Meanwhile, Ukraine made the following payments:
- $73.6 million for servicing and repaying debt to the World Bank
- $12.6 million for servicing and repaying debt to Credit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank
- $42.6 million for repaying debt to other international creditors
Additionally, Ukraine paid $248.6 million to the International Monetary Fund.
The average exchange rate increased by 1.9% over the month to 40.48 UAH/USD.
