Representatives from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine, as well as Ukrainian and American defense companies, discussed the development of cooperation on the modernization of Ukraine's air defense systems.
In particular, the conversation focused on organizing repair work and the modification of certain Ukrainian air defense systems.
Brigadier General Serhiy Baranov, Head of the Missile Programmes Directorate at the Ministry of Defense, expressed hope that:
"Ukrainian and U.S. companies working in this field will be able to strengthen cooperation."
During the meeting in Kyiv, the parties discussed the current state of joint projects and the next steps for their implementation.
Ukrainian and American companies are considering the possibility of repairing some of the air defense systems in service with the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Ukrainian territory, which would allow the updated weapons to be put into use more quickly.
