The Ukrainian Armed Forces launched their largest strike against Russian military targets in the night of January 14. The targets were located up to 1,100 kilometers deep inside Russia.
According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, in the night of January 14, the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out the most extensive strike on Russian military sites at distances ranging from 200 to 1,100 kilometers within Russia. The strike targeted facilities in the Bryansk, Saratov, Tula regions, and the Republic of Tatarstan.
The strike hit the "Kombinat Krystal" oil products storage base in Engels, Saratov region. Just yesterday, the fire caused by a previous strike, which had lasted for five days, was extinguished.
"Fires were successfully resumed by the Ukrainian Armed Forces' unmanned systems and the Main Intelligence Directorate," the General Staff reported.
Additionally, the Bryansk chemical plant in the town of Seltso was hit. This strategic military-industrial complex facility manufactures ammunition for artillery, multiple rocket launchers, aviation, engineering munitions, and components for the X-59 cruise missiles. Secondary detonations were observed at the plant, continuing for several hours. Furthermore, two Russian air defense missile systems, the "Tor" and "Buk," were destroyed during the attack.
The task involved units from the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ unmanned systems, Special Operations Forces, missile troops, Air Force, as well as the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense and the Security Service of Ukraine.
Strategic targets in Russia’s military-industrial complex were hit by units from the Main Intelligence Directorate and the Security Service of Ukraine, including the Saratov Oil Refinery and the Kazanorgsintez plant. Both facilities caught fire.
"Targeted and systematic efforts to strike facilities providing ammunition, military equipment, and fuel and lubricants to the Russian army will continue until the complete cessation of Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine," stated the General Staff.
