President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has signed Law No. 4629‑IX on the deployment of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to other states.
This is stated on the bill’s page on the Verkhovna Rada website.
“Returned with the signature of the President of Ukraine,” the document reads.
As the Verkhovna Rada commented on Telegram, the measure is, in particular, important for the protection of Ukraine’s maritime borders.
The law provides for the deployment of the relevant AFU units to Turkey and the United Kingdom for the duration of martial law.
The Verkhovna Rada noted that implementation of the law will facilitate the acquisition of complex military equipment and the professional training needed to use it to defend Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
