Ukrainian border guards prevented an attempt to illegally export a unique Stradivarius violin from Ukraine to Poland, as reported by the State Border Guard Service press service.
"The border guards, together with customs officers, prevented the export of the 'Antonius Stradivarius' violin, produced in 1713," the statement reads.
It is noted that the musical instrument was found by an inspection group in the luggage compartment of a car heading to Poland.
It is worth noting that the master Stradivari made around 2500 string instruments, of which undoubtedly genuine 732 have been preserved, including 632 violins.
These items are unique and are often presented at exhibitions in world museums as genuine works of art. In particular, the value of such a violin can exceed $15 million.
