Ukrainian drones launched a massive attack on the Rostov region overnight on July 21. Debris from one of the downed drones fell onto the Kamenolomni railway station, reported the acting governor of the region, Yuriy Slyusar.

The press service of the North Caucasus Railway (NCR) specified that the strike caused a fire at the station, which had to be extinguished with the help of a fire train.

"The incident caused disruptions in the passenger train schedule. Twenty-six passenger trains were delayed between 13 minutes and 4.5 hours en route," the NCR noted.

This is the second recent case when Ukrainian drone attacks have halted railway traffic in the Rostov region. On July 19, Russian Railways (RZD) reported that drone debris damaged the contact network on the Likhaya–Zamchalovo section. Initially, the company warned of delays affecting more than 50 long-distance trains, but later the number of delayed trains rose to 132. Some were behind schedule by up to 15 hours. Among them were trains operated by RZD-controlled Grand Service Express, which runs routes to and from Crimea. Passengers on the delayed trains complained in chats about intense heat, malfunctioning air conditioners, and lack of ventilation.

Also, on the night of July 21, Ukrainian drones attacked Moscow. According to Moscow’s mayor, Sergey Sobyanin, the air defense forces shot down 13 drones. During the raid, restrictions on arrivals and departures were imposed at Sheremetyevo, Vnukovo, Domodedovo, and Zhukovsky airports. These restrictions lasted about three hours, and dozens of flights were canceled at Sheremetyevo.
