In the first half of 2024, the Ukrainian Export Credit Agency (UkrEXIM) supported exports worth 4.6 billion UAH. This was announced by the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economy of Ukraine, Yuliia Svyrydenko.
"The Ukrainian Export Credit Agency increased its export support volumes by almost 2.5 times in the first half of the year compared to the same period last year. Developing non-raw material exports is one of the key areas of the 'Made in Ukraine' economic policy. Tools from UkrEXIM help achieve these goals, particularly by making ECA insurance recognized by banks as sufficient collateral for loans, simplifying and reducing their cost. Additionally, cooperation with UkrEXIM reduces risks for exporters and banks, lowers financing costs, and increases business development opportunities," noted Yuliia Svyrydenko.
The top three regions in terms of supported export volumes for the half-year are as follows:
- Kyiv: 2.78 billion UAH
- Lviv region: 1.11 billion UAH
- Vinnytsia region: 234.2 million UAH
The top five countries to which Ukrainian manufacturers sold their products in January-June (by the amounts of concluded and insured contracts) included Poland, UAE, Azerbaijan, Slovakia, and Germany.
The most popular export goods were dairy products, wood and its products, toys, clothing, and processed vegetable products.
The tools of the Ukrainian Export Credit Agency are one of the elements of the "Made in Ukraine" policy, presented by President Volodymyr Zelensky in February. Its goal is to support non-raw material exports, develop manufacturing, and attract investments into the real sector.
