Ukrainian Film Days will take place in Riga from 27 to 29 October. The State Film Agency of Ukraine announced the event.

"From 27 to 29 October 2026, Riga will host 'Ukrainian Film Days in the Name of Life', a cultural event bringing together cinema, international cooperation and recognition of those who save human lives every day," the statement said.

The project aims to promote Ukrainian cinema, strengthen cultural diplomacy and deepen Ukrainian-Latvian relations.

The programme features four Ukrainian films: Yasa, directed by Serhiy Masloboyshchykov; Cuba & Alaska, directed by Yehor Troyanovskyi; Distant Consequences, directed by Kateryna Malokopieieva; and Well, Mum!, directed by Oleh Borshchevskyi.

An important part of the event will be the Order of Saint Panteleimon award ceremony, scheduled for 28 October. The award symbolises recognition of the professionalism, compassion and dedication of medical professionals and those who support Ukraine in its struggle for freedom and independence.

The event will also include meetings between Ukrainian and Latvian filmmakers, a masterclass for students of the Latvian Academy of Culture, and the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the National Union of Cinematographers of Ukraine and the Latvian Filmmakers Union.

Screenings and other events will take place at the Splendid Palace cinema and the Ukrainian House in Latvia.
