Ukrainian AI photo editing developer Skylum has introduced a tool for face retouching. Aperty allows for professional-level portrait editing in minutes, from skin tone and texture correction to makeup application.
As noted by Skylum, the company recognized the challenges faced by professional and commercial photographers, particularly the countless hours spent on retouching images. In response, Skylum developed Aperty to automate this routine work, freeing up time for new projects.
"We understand that time is precious for photographers, especially those running their own businesses. We believe retouching should be fast, simple, and consistently deliver high-quality results," said Skylum CEO Ivan Kutanin.
Combining advanced AI technology with modern features, Aperty sets a new standard for next-generation portrait retouching tools.
Key Features of Aperty:
- Face Mesh: Aperty processes up to 4,000 facial points, ensuring high precision with every edit, considering the depth and size of the image.
- Facial and Body Segmentation: The tool detects up to 30 facial and body parts, allowing for detailed retouching and shape adjustments.
- Synthetic Data Sets: AI models trained on such data ensure the safety of photographers' original works and address privacy and intellectual property concerns.
Key Functions:
- Skin Smoothing: Evens out skin texture while preserving natural tones and details like pores.
- Spot Removal: Eliminates blemishes without damaging the skin texture and allows for the restoration of freckles.
- Skin Tone Correction: Balances skin tones by adjusting red and green hues, addressing facial redness or greenish tones due to poor lighting.

- Makeup: Adds blush, contour, and highlight during post-processing, with customizable tone and blending for a natural look.
