Ukrainian company SkyFall has presented the P1-SUN JetKiller interceptor, designed to destroy enemy jet-powered attack drones. The development was showcased at the Farnborough International Airshow.
“The interceptor reaches speeds of up to 370 km/h, has a flight range of up to 30 km, operates at altitudes of up to 9,000 meters, remains airborne for up to 15 minutes and carries a 500-gram warhead. During straight-line flight, its systems do not overheat in any operating mode,” SkyFall said.
The P1-SUN JetKiller is available in several configurations, including versions with daytime or night analogue or digital cameras, as well as a version equipped with an AI module for automatic target detection and acquisition.
“The AI-based terminal guidance system developed by SkyFall’s R&D team allows the interceptor to detect and lock onto enemy targets faster than the human eye at distances of up to 1 kilometer. The AI module handles target detection, tracking and retention, allowing the operator to act faster and more accurately in complex combat conditions,” the company said.
SkyFall added that integration with its remote-control system allows the interceptor to be operated from anywhere in the world.
The manufacturer said the P1-SUN JetKiller is part of SkyFall’s strategic effort to develop fully autonomous next-generation unmanned systems. The company is building an integrated ecosystem in which its drones will be able to exchange data and independently detect, identify and engage targets.
The P1-SUN JetKiller is currently completing combat trials and, according to the manufacturer, has already successfully intercepted jet-powered Shahed drones.
