Ukrzaliznytsia is launching an anti-corruption office to tackle internal corruption.

The anti-corruption office will consider reports from whistleblowers about violations of legal requirements, conduct checks, investigations, prevent conflicts of interest, and address other anti-corruption restrictions. The office will also collaborate with the public sector.

Julia Azarina, the authorized person for anti-corruption activities at JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia," has been appointed as the head of the office.

"At the initial stage, we will work on bringing the company's internal procedures in line with legal requirements and best global practices, as well as improving the company's integrity policy," says Azarina.

Eugene Lysychenko, the CEO of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia," notes that in 2023, the company has taken significant steps to overcome corruption. Specifically, fuel, electricity, and gas are now procured through direct contracts with producers. Ukrzaliznytsia also collaborates with law enforcement agencies and the National Agency on Corruption Prevention  to eliminate hidden corruption factors.
