Specialists of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia, in cooperation with the Cyber Department of the Security Service of Ukraine, continue restoring the online system that suffered a large-scale targeted cyberattack.
Ukrzaliznytsia reported this on Telegram.
The company's online systems were subjected to a massive cyberattack. The recovery process lasted all of the past day and is still ongoing.
Ukrzaliznytsia specialists are working closely with the Cyber Department of the SSU.
As emphasized by the company, "the Russian forces failed to achieve the key objective: train operations remain stable, running on schedule without delays, and all operational processes have been adjusted in a backup format. The railway continues to operate despite physical attacks on infrastructure and cannot be stopped even by the most insidious cyberattacks."
Since Ukrzaliznytsia has previously been a target of enemy cyberattacks, the company has implemented backup protocols.
The latest attack was highly systematic, complex, and multi-layered. Before full restoration from backups, Ukrzaliznytsia specialists, along with many involved partners and the SBU Cyber Department, must thoroughly test the services for potential vulnerabilities, the statement said.
Online ticket sales remain unavailable, and Ukrzaliznytsia is preparing to continue operating in offline mode throughout the day.
Tickets are available at ticket offices.
