During her visit, Samantha Power, the Administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), announced a new program to support medical facilities in Ukraine, along with commitments for energy support and humanitarian funding exceeding $1 billion. This was reported during a press conference .

"Now, as it is expected that 250,000 people will need medical assistance, I am announcing a new five-year program worth $13 million called 'Rehab for You,' which will help Ukrainians recover from injuries and live with disabilities, enabling them to continue working and contributing to their communities, the economy, and, of course, their families," she stated.

Power added that USAID continues to support 830 medical facilities across Ukraine by supplying medical equipment and medicines while Russia attacks hospitals.

The Administrator also announced a commitment to provide $825 million for Ukraine's energy system this winter, as Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is once again prepared to use cold as a weapon.

"This is double what we invested last winter. These resources have allowed us to support those repairing and protecting critical infrastructure," Power emphasized. Additionally, she announced an extra $237 million in humanitarian funding through USAID. This funding will assist partners in providing essential items such as food, shelter, and medical services for Ukrainians both domestically and abroad, as well as help supply items like thermal blankets and winter clothing.

The Administrator concluded that since the onset of the full-scale invasion, USAID has provided $32.5 billion in humanitarian and development assistance to the people of Ukraine, assuring continued support.
