On July 17, 2014, Russian military forces from occupied Ukrainian territory shot down a Malaysian Boeing 777 en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur. All 298 passengers on board perished. This tragedy ranks among the deadliest aviation disasters in history and continues to be a painful wound for the families and friends of the victims.

The screening is organized by the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Austria and the Ukrainian Youth Association in Austria, with support from the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to international organizations in Vienna.
