Kyiv's sister city, Brussels, has donated 3,000 bulletproof vests for workers in the Ukrainian capital who are involved in addressing the aftermath of Russian shelling.
This was reported on the Kyiv Mayor's Telegram channel.
"As charitable aid, Kyiv received 3,000 non-military bulletproof vests from the Brussels City Hall and the Brussels Saint-Pierre Hospital, our sister city's administration. The bulletproof vests will protect Kyiv's medics and workers of emergency and utility services as they assist those affected by Russian attacks and during the elimination of the consequences of shelling," Klitschko said.
The vests were handed over by Marie-France Bott, head of the economic and international relations department of the Brussels City Hall, and Luc Jacobs, the Ambassador of Belgium to Ukraine, according to the Kyiv Mayor.
He expressed his gratitude to Brussels and its mayor, Philippe Close, who consistently supports and helps Kyiv and Ukraine.
"The partnership between our cities, which began in May 2022, has already brought many benefits. Brussels is helping to equip Kyiv's medical institutions, and to train medical staff. During the full-scale war, they have provided our city with humanitarian aid, equipment, and specialized vehicles. Thank you for your friendship and real support! Together we are stronger!" Vitali Klitschko emphasized.
