Now Wizz Air planes will not stay overnight in Chisinau, and some flights will also be cancelled.

The Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizz Air decided to close its base in Chisinau from December 1, 2022, so now the company's aircraft will not be deployed in Moldova.

Pro TV reports it with reference to the press service of the airline.

This decision was made by the leadership of Wizz Air because of the Russian missiles launched toward Ukraine, which recently flew over the airspace of the Republic of Moldova.

“After a thorough risk assessment and considering the risks of closing the airspace in the Republic of Moldova, we have adjusted our winter program for 2022-2023 from Chisinau to ensure its continued implementation. To minimize the overall disruption for our Moldovan customers, we will change the operation of most of our flights to arrive in Chisinau from bases in other cities of the Wizz Air network from December 1, 2022,” the company said in a press release.

It is reported that until November 30, 2022, Wizz Air will continue to operate flights from Chisinau to Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and the United Kingdom.

From December 1, 2022, Wizz Air will operate flights to Chisinau from Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and the UK. Flights from Chisinau to Paris Beauvais, Brussels Charleroi, Basel-Mulhouse and Turin will be suspended.
