Ukrainian high jumper Yaroslava Mahuchikh emerged as the winner of the Diamond League event in Xiamen, China.

The 21-year-old athlete from Dnipro managed to clear the height of 2.02 meters.

Maguchikh equaled the best result of the current season and set a new personal record for the year 2023.

The silver medal in the competition was claimed by Slovenia's Lia Apostolovski (1.92 meters), while the bronze went to Australia's Eleanor Patterson (1.92 meters).

Another Ukrainian athlete, Yuliya Chumachenko, secured fifth place with a jump of 1.86 meters.

In addition, Mahuchikh has secured an early qualification for the Diamond League season finale, which will take place on September 16-17 in Eugene, USA. Ukrainian high jumper Iryna Herashchenko has also earned the right to compete there.

Recall that at the end of August, Maguchikh secured the "gold" at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest. This is Ukraine's only gold medal at this tournament and the first victory at the World Championships in the last 10 years.
