Ukrainian high jumper Yaroslava Mahuchikh won her second consecutive medal since the start of the season. The athlete claimed gold at the World Athletics Indoor Tour Silver meeting in Banska Bystrica on Tuesday.
Mahuchikh started her 2025 international season at the tournament in Udine, Italy, where she won gold with a result of 1.94 meters. Her second competition was the Continental Tour stage in Slovakia.
Mahuchikh’s competitors in Banská Bystrica included renowned athletes, such as Australia's 2022 world champion and 2024 Olympic bronze medalist Eleanor Patterson. Also competing were two-time European Championship medalist and Diamond League finalist Angelina Topich, 2023 European Indoor silver medalist Brit Veerman, and U18 European champion Lilianna Batori.

2.01 meters is a new world season record. No other high jumper has cleared the 2-meter mark since the beginning of the year.
This is Mahuchikh's fourth career gold at the tournament in Banská Bystrica, and it marks her second consecutive medal of the season, after the gold she won at the Udin Jump Development competition in Italy.
