Ukraine seeks to deepen cooperation with Danish manufacturers to establish joint ventures for the production of demining equipment on Ukrainian territory, said Yulia Svyrydenko, First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economy, during a meeting with Jan Werner Jensen, CEO of the Danish company Hydrema, in Copenhagen on April 15, 2024.

"We sincerely appreciate Denmark's support to Ukraine in the field of humanitarian demining. Today, Hydrema's mechanical demining machines are already operating to clear our country's territory. It is extremely important for us that, thanks to cooperation with a Ukrainian manufacturer, the company has localized production in Ukraine and is collaborating with a Ukrainian partner. Therefore, the opportunities for deepening cooperation in this area are far from exhausted. Today, this direction is developing powerfully in Ukraine, and synergy between Ukrainian and Danish manufacturers would accelerate the pace of humanitarian demining," said Yulia Svyrydenko.

Currently, there are 9 Hydrema machines operating in the field of demining in Ukraine. The company's capacity allows for the production of 5 more machines this year and 9 in the following year.

"We believe that Hydrema's capabilities and technologies can make an even greater contribution to the safety of Ukrainian land. The company has already demonstrated its effectiveness in achieving this goal. In addition to the machines operating in Ukraine, Ukrainian specialists have also been trained to use the equipment and repair it in case of breakdowns or detonations. Therefore, thanks to the cooperation already established, we have the potential to expand it," added Yulia Svyrydenko.

Overall, there are currently 77 heavy demining machines operating in Ukraine. In addition, two memoranda on the localization of equipment production for demining were signed last year in London during the Ukraine Recovery Conference, with the Danish company Hydrema and the Croatian company DOK-ING.
