President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced the appointment of former Canadian Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland as an advisor on economic development.
Zelensky made the announcement on Monday, January 5.
“Chrystia has professional expertise in these matters and significant experience in attracting investments and implementing economic transformations. Ukraine now needs to increase its internal resilience — to aid in the country’s recovery if diplomacy works quickly, and to strengthen our defense if delays by partners require us to work longer to end the war,” the president’s statement reads.
