President Volodymyr Zelensky awarded the French actor Alain Delon the Order of Merit for Ukraine.
Ambassador of Ukraine to France Vadym Omelchenko announced this on social media, as well as on French television.
'An extremely rare and unprecedented gesture towards a foreigner,' the message said.
88-year-old Delon has been vocal in support of Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale war.
