Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, against the backdrop of a combined Russian attack, once again stressed the need to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense.

“Today the Russians again struck our infrastructure, targeting everything that ensures normal life for people. We need more protection and faster implementation of all defense agreements, especially regarding air defense, to make this aerial terror meaningless,” he wrote on Telegram.

The President emphasized that a unilateral ceasefire in the sky is possible and could pave the way for real diplomacy.

“America and Europe must act to force Putin to stop,” he stressed.

Zelensky noted that he constantly receives reports on restoration work from Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko, Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksiy Kuleba, heads of regional military administrations, and Naftogaz CEO Serhiy Koretsky. He expects the government to work as quickly and efficiently as possible to eliminate the consequences in the affected regions.

The President reported that last night Russia launched more than 50 missiles and around 500 strike drones. The enemy attacked with cruise missiles, “Kinzhal” missiles, and “Shahed” drones.

According to him, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zaporizhzhia, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, Odessa, and Kirovohrad regions were targeted.

“Currently, around 10 people are known to have been injured in the attack. Unfortunately, five were killed. My sincere condolences to all who lost loved ones due to this terror,” the head of state concluded.
