11 days of Ukrainian cinema in New York

The biggest event of the Cinemaid Ukraine World Charity Film Marathon starts in America

From July 26 to August 31, during 11 days in the city of New York, at the Ukrainian Institute of America, the world charity film marathon in support of Ukraine CinemAid Ukraine Charity Film Marathon, will present 11 Ukrainian feature films to the audience.

In the programme:

July 26 – historical drama “Shchedryk (Carol of the Bells) directed by Olesya Morgunets-Isayenko
July 27 – historical action “Kruty 1918” directed by Oleksiy Shaparev
July 28 – biographical drama “Forbidden” directed by Roman Brovka
August 2 – musical-comedy action film “Noble Tramps” directed by Oleksandr Berezan
August 3 – historical action “Zakhar Berkut” directed by Akhtem Seitablayev
August 4 – fantasy fairy tale “Infernal Banner or Cossack Christmas” directed by Mykhailo Kostrov
August 18 – historical drama “House “Slovo”: The Neverending Romance” directed by Taras Tomenko
August 23 – the historical drama “Toloka” directed by Mykhailo Ilyenko
August 25 – the drama “Forebodings” directed by Vyacheslav Kryshtofovych
August 30 – the historical drama “Another’s Prayer” directed by Akhtem Seitablayev
August 31 – historical drama “The Guide” directed by Oles Sanin

The films will be shown in Ukrainian with English subtitles. The collected funds will be transferred to support the film industry of Ukraine during the war and the treatment of wounded soldiers-cinematographers.

The organizers of the event are the Ukrainian Institute of America, the International Fund “Artistic Treasury,” and the Union of Ukrainian Women of America, the co-organizer from the Ukrainian side is the “Look Ukrainian!” Association, the coordinators of the film marathon in New York, are Tetiana and Yurii Logushi.


CinemAid Ukraine Charity Film Marathon is a series of screenings of Ukrainian films abroad in support of Ukraine. The World Charity Film Marathon is initiated by the Ukrainian State Film Agency, together with the Ukrainian Film Academy, the “Watch Ukrainian!” Association, the Ukrainian Film Association, the NGO “UkrKinoFest”, the NGO “Union of TV and Film Industry Entrepreneurs”, the NGO “Nareshti”, KP “Kyivkinofilm”, BO BF “Dveri”, GO “Centre for the Development of Creative Industries”.
