Between January and September 2025, 11 attacks on ships were recorded in the ports of Odesa region, resulting in damage to 13 civilian vessels and one military ship.
This was reported on Facebook by Andriy Klymenko, head of the Monitoring Group at the Institute for Black Sea Strategic Studies.
By month:
September – 0; August – 5 (including 1 military vessel); July – 5; June – 0; May – 1; April – 0; March – 3 vessels; no information was received for January–February.
The vessels came under attack in the Odesa Sea Port, the Chornomorsk Sea Port, the Izmail Sea Port, the Danube ports, as well as in the coastal waters of the Black Sea and the Danube Delta.
The means of attack included ballistic missiles, attack drones, USVs, and sea mines.
March:
- 01.03.25 – Bulk carrier SUPER SARKAS (flag of Sierra Leone);
- 01.03.25 – Container ship MSC LEVANTE F (flag of Panama) — both vessels were hit by ballistic missiles at the Odesa Sea Port;
- 11.03.25 – Bulk carrier MJ Pinar (flag of Barbados) was damaged in the Odesa Sea Port as a result of a ballistic missile strike on the port; four crew members were killed.
May:
- 23.05.25 – A container ship was reportedly damaged by an Iskander-M missile at the Odesa Sea Port (information released in the media was not confirmed; the vessel’s name was not disclosed).
July:
- 03.07.25 – Bulk carrier AJ ROSE (IMO 9217785, flag of Saint Kitts and Nevis) was damaged by an Iskander-M missile in the Odesa Sea Port (previous reports mentioned a vessel under the flag of São Tomé and Príncipe, whose name could not be established). Two crew members were killed.

- 06.07.25 – General cargo ship Zeibek (IMO 8213732, flag of Moldova); location of impact, nature of damage, and other details unknown.
- 08.07.25 – Bulk carrier Amadore (IMO 8520824, flag of Malta); location of impact, nature of damage, and other details unknown.
- 23.07.25 – At the Bystre estuary of the Danube River, a civilian dredger Inhulskyi, owned by the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority, struck (likely) a mine. Three crew members were killed.
August:
- 08.08.25 – Bulk carrier Moayad Y (IMO 9135482, flag of Comoros, deadweight nearly 24,000 tons); location of impact, nature of damage, and other details unknown.
- 20.08.25 – Chemical/product tanker Excellion (IMO 9428437, flag of Panama) was seriously damaged as a result of a UAV strike on the oil terminal of the Izmail Sea Port, followed by a shockwave and fire.
- 28.08.25 – Ukrainian Navy ship Simferopol was attacked at a berth in the Danube estuary. One sailor was killed and several were wounded.
- 31.08.25 – General cargo ship NS Pride (IMO 8815293, flag of Belize) sustained damage after hitting an unidentified explosive device while departing from the Chornomorsk port.
- 31.08.25 – Ferry Heroi Shypky (IMO 7605770, flag of Ukraine), operating on the Chornomorsk–Varna line, was damaged—likely at the Chornomorsk Sea Port. The nature of the damage has not been determined.
