At the Manchester Film Festival, three Ukrainian films supported by the State Cinema Agency will participate.

As part of the Manchester Film Festival, three Ukrainian films created with the support of the State Agency of Ukraine for Cinema will participate in the NARRATIVE FEATURE competition programme.

"Forever-Forever" directed by Anna Buryachkova.

Plot: In search of protection and a place she truly belongs, Tonya moves from a downtown school to another in a residential area and joins a group of desperate youth. Together, they seek adventures and trouble on the outskirts of post-Soviet Kyiv. Soon, Tonya falls in love with Zhurik, while her friendship with Lera leads her to feel attracted to her brother Sanya. All this leads to a tangled love triangle.

 

"Dovbush" directed by Oles Sanin.

Plot: The Carpathians. The beginning of the 18th century. Harsh rule of the nobility forces the Hutsuls to flee to the mountains. Two brothers, Oleksa and Ivan Dovbush, become outlaws. In search of revenge against the lords for the murder of their parents, the brothers become enemies. The legend that inspires generations fighting for the freedom of their homeland. About the strength and love of Oleksa Dovbush, about betrayal and injustice. About how he lived and how he cheated death.

 

"Do You Love Me?" directed by Tonya Noyabryova.

Plot: The Soviet Union is about to collapse, and in Kyiv lives 17-year-old Kira. According to the standards of those times, she's a child from an "elite family": her father is a film director. Kira lives in complete idyll: her parents love her, they have everything at home that is inaccessible to "ordinary Soviet people," studying at the Kyiv Theater School goes joyfully, surrounded by friends. At some point, the idyll is shattered: the Soviet Union is falling, and now her father has a lover he goes to. The girl plunges into a mad love affair with the paramedic Misha and moves into a communal apartment, simultaneously realizing that her previous life was indeed a beautiful utopia barely connected to reality.

The Manchester Film Festival is an international film festival that showcases cinema from around the world. This year, the festival take place from March 15th to 24th in Manchester, UK.
