A Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group attempted to breach the border near Kozacha Lopan in Kharkiv region during the night of November 24-25.
This was reported on Facebook by Vyacheslav Zadorenko, head of the Derhachi military administration.
"On the night of November 24-25, a small Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group attempted to break through the border in the area of the Goptivka – Nehoteevka checkpoint and was stopped by our defenders. Some of the saboteurs were eliminated, and the others retreated back to the Belgorod region," the post reads.
Zadorenko urged the community residents not to panic.
"From time to time, the enemy attempts to ‘probe’ the positions of the Ukrainian defenders by sending in their saboteurs. Therefore, this event only demonstrates the strength of our defense and the coordinated actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to eliminate the occupiers. The Russians are not conducting and do not attempt to carry out an active offensive in the Derhachi direction, and no sufficient forces for this have been detected on the border. So, I ask everyone not to panic, trust official sources and verified media outlets," the official emphasized.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the Kharkiv front, the Russian forces attempted to storm Ukrainian positions near the settlements of Kozacha Lopan, Tykhe, and Vovchansk six times over the past day.
Kozacha Lopan is a settlement in the Derhachi community of Kharkiv district, located just two kilometers from the border with Russia. It was occupied for six months after the invasion. Since its liberation in September 2022, the village has been subjected to Russian shelling from various types of weapons.
