American actor Sean Penn visited the Intervention Accommodation Point for refugees in Rzeszów. There he met the president of Rzeszów, Konrad Fijołek. He thanked for the help provided to refugees and assured that he also wanted to support refugees reaching Poland together with the CORE Foundation. For this purpose, an agreement was signed between the Rzeszów municipality and the CORE Foundation.

The organization CORE (Community Organized Relief Efforts) was founded by the winner of two Oscars from the Hollywood Film Academy in 2010 with the aim of helping the victims of the earthquake that devastated Haiti that year. The project, to be carried out through the foundation headed by Penn, includes specialization courses for social workers who are going to carry out their work with refugees and the rehabilitation of various social dwellings that the city of Krakow has earmarked for housing Ukrainian families.

It will be recalled that the actor first came to Kyiv last fall. As a director, he made a documentary about Ukraine. He was interested in the most dramatic moments of recent history: the events that took place on the Maidan in the winter of 2014, he also visited the environmental protection zone. The next arrival of the star almost coincided with the beginning of the war - February 23, 2022. So he had to evacuate. On February 28, Sean managed to cross the border with Poland on foot, but returned to Eastern Europe to help Ukraine. In Krakow, the actor and director signed a humanitarian contract with Mayor Jacek Maichrowski to help refugees.
