The Russian national rowing and canoeing team was officially deprived of victory at the World Championships, which took place in 2014.
The Ukrainian Canoe Federation (UCF) announced that by decision of the International Canoe Federation (ICF), the gold medals will be given to the Ukrainian team.
Due to doping, the Russian team was disqualified. The trial dragged on a bit, and only now the point has been put on this issue. On July 22, the ICF officially informed the PKU about the redistribution of medals to some of our athletes in connection with a doping sanction disqualifying Russian athletes

Recall that the Russians won the 4 Ã 200 meters relay in canoe singles, the Ukrainian team came second to the finish line, and the Hungarians became the third.
Later, the International Canoe Federation (ICF) disqualified the result of the Russians due to doping. One of the participants in the sample found banned substances: trenbolone, methenolone and oxandrolone. The Court of Arbitration for Sport has finally announced the final decision and appointed the âblue-yellowâ world champions.
At this World Championship, our team competed with Yuri Cheban, Alexander Maksimchuk, Vadim Tsipan and Vitaly Golyuk.
It is noted that the gold medals will be returned to the leadership of the Ukrainian federation at the next ICF Congress in the fall.
