Poland will be able to defend itself against an enemy attack for one to two weeks. During this time, NATO allies' assistance should arrive.

This was stated by the head of Poland’s National Security Bureau, Dariusz Łukowski, Polsat News reports.

He noted that everything depends on the situation that may arise in the event of a confrontation with the enemy.

"I think, depending on how this battle is conducted, this defense can be maintained for a week or two given today's stock levels," he said.

The head of the National Security Bureau stated that the Polish army still has a mix of old and new equipment, with ammunition shortages mainly affecting outdated systems.

"All the combat assets and platforms that we have introduced into the armed forces in recent years are also being supplied with combat resources in parallel (…). In this case, the situation looks much better," Łukowski said.

When asked whether it is true that Poland has only a five-day supply of ammunition for war, he responded:

"It depends on what combat assets and what equipment we are talking about."
