On the night of October 8 (starting from 18:30 on October 7), the Russian forces launched an attack using 183 strike UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, and other types, coming from the directions of Millerovo, Kursk, Bryansk, Orel, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as from Hvardiiske and Chauda in the occupied Crimea — about 100 of them being Shaheds.
The air assault was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and drone system units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 09:00, air defense forces destroyed or neutralized 154 UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, and other types over northern, southern, eastern, and central regions of the country.
Hits from 22 strike UAVs were recorded at 11 locations.
