On the night of December 20 (from 19:00 on December 19), the Russian forces launched an attack with three Iskander-M ballistic missiles from the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea, as well as 51 strike UAVs of the Shahed and Gerbera types, and other drones from the directions of Orel, Kursk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Shatalove—about 30 of them being Shaheds.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare and drone units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 09:00, Ukraine’s air defense had shot down or suppressed 31 UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, and other types in the north, south, and east of the country.
