On the night of June 15 (starting from 18:00 on June 14), the Russian forces launched a massive combined attack against Ukraine using attack UAVs, as well as air- and ground-launched missiles of various types.
The main target of the attack was Kyiv. Missile strikes were also carried out against Dnipro and Kharkiv.
In total, the Air Force's radio-technical troops detected 681 aerial attack assets: 70 missiles and 611 UAVs of various types:
- 6 3M22 Zircon anti-ship missiles (launched from the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea);
- 34 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles (launched from Russia's Bryansk and Kursk regions);
- 30 Kh-101/Iskander-K cruise missiles (launched from Russia's Vologda and Kursk regions);
- 611 attack UAVs, including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, Banderol loitering munitions, and Parodiya decoy drones (launched from Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as Hvardiiske, Chauda, and the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea).
The air attack was countered by aviation, surface-to-air missile units, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 08:00, Ukraine's air defense had shot down or suppressed 632 targets — 50 missiles and 582 UAVs of various types:
- 5 3M22 Zircon anti-ship missiles;
- 15 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles;
- 30 Kh-101/Iskander-K cruise missiles;
- 582 UAVs of various types.
According to preliminary information, as of 08:00, impacts from 20 ballistic missiles and 27 attack UAVs were recorded at 42 locations. In addition, debris from downed UAVs fell at 12 locations.
