Ajax Systems has announced the release of the Ajax DoorBell, a video doorphone with built-in artificial intelligence, an infrared sensor, and app control. The Ajax DoorBell sets a new standard for video doorphone user experience by combining seamless operation with advanced security features. The device easily integrates into the Ajax ecosystem and is now available for order.
The main feature of the Ajax DoorBell is to notify users about visitors in real time without delay. As soon as someone rings the doorbell, the Ajax user receives a notification, sees who is at the door, and can immediately communicate with the guest via the app. Ajax's proprietary technologies ensure clear, uninterrupted communication for both parties.
The video doorphone also functions as a security camera:
-
It alerts users about the movement of people, animals, or vehicles.
-
It records video to the Ajax NVR recorder or the soon-to-be-available Ajax Cloud Storage service.
-
It can also notify security companies even without Wi-Fi via the Ajax hub.
The Ajax DoorBell is equipped with a 4MP camera with HDR technology and an infrared illumination range of up to 6 meters, ensuring clear images regardless of lighting conditions. The doorphone features noise and echo suppression technologies, along with a significantly higher volume level compared to other devices on the market.
The device is powered by built-in AI that recognizes people, animals, and vehicles. Users can customize detection settings and receive notifications for all objects or only specific types.
The primary communication channel for the video doorphone is Wi-Fi, with a range of up to 500 meters without interference and up to 30 meters even through concrete walls. This ensures stable operation in large private houses. For installers, this means less hassle during setup, as the router does not need to be placed directly at the entrance. Even if the Wi-Fi connection is lost, the DoorBell remains connected to the Ajax hub via a backup communication channel—Jeweller and Wings radio protocols. Both technologies detect interference and jamming, while the built-in frequency-hopping feature further strengthens the channel's security.
Thanks to Ajax's proprietary JetSparrow video protocol, video is transmitted instantly from the device to the Ajax app with minimal delay, ensuring data privacy as no third parties are involved in the process.
