The aerial attack on Ukraine on August 26 cost Russia approximately $1.26 billion.

According to calculations by Ekonomichna Pravda (EP):

On the morning of August 26, the Russian forces launched against Ukraine:

  • 109 Shahed-136/131 attack drones;
  • 77 X-101 cruise missiles;
  • 3 X-22 cruise missiles;
  • 28 Kalibr sea-based cruise missiles;
  • 6 Iskander-M ballistic missiles;
  • 3 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles;
  • 10 Kh-59/Kh-69 guided aviation missiles.

The Shahed-136/131 drones can cost from $49,000 if produced domestically by Russia, up to $290,000 if imported from Iran. Taking the average price for import from Iran—$193,000—the total cost for 109 Shahed drones is about $21.3 million.

The cost of a Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missile is $10 million, totaling $30 million for the 3 missiles.

The X-22 cruise missile is valued at $1 million each, making the total for 3 missiles $3 million.

The X-101 missile costs $13 million each, totaling $1 billion for the 77 missiles.

According to Defence Express, a Kalibr missile costs $6.5 million, so the total cost for 28 missiles is $182 million.

Kh-59/Kh-69 guided missiles are priced at $0.5 million each, making the total cost for 10 missiles $5 million.

The Iskander-M ballistic missile can cost $3 million each, totaling $18 million for the 6 missiles.

Thus, the total expenditure for Russia's morning attack on August 26 is approximately $1.26 billion.
