Russian generals have no confidence that they would be able to achieve at least some success in Bakhmut.
Russia realized that it had finally "blown away" near Bakhmut. Now Russian army is transferring equipment in another direction.
According to the military-political expert Alexander Musienko, who shared his opinion on the air of the telethon, Bakhmut was a strategic goal for the Russians. There, the Russians tried to contain the Armed Forces of Ukraine and hoped to carry out a counteroffensive.
In addition, Bakhmut has become a symbolic target because our heroes steadfastly hold the defense and do not allow the enemy to capture the city. Musienko noted that Yevgeny Prigozhin, the founder of Wagner PMC, had serious ambitions. He ignored the losses and tried to capture the city. However, the expert noted, the Russian Federation needs a way to move towards Bakhmut.
“Today it is already clear that the Russian troops and their command are beginning to understand that they are not achieving their goals in this way. Because heavy weapons are being transferred, the equipment is still there. They were able to bring together 35 tanks of various, including obsolete T-62s, those that were formed in three months were searched all over Russia. Now they are being transported to the Zaporizhzhia direction, to the Berdyansk region," Musienko said.
In other words, the Russians no longer have the confidence that they can capture Bakhmut and weaken the forces of Ukraine. That is why, the expert noted, they are trying to transfer their efforts to another direction.
Yesterday it became known that the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, visited the forward positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in Bakhmut, Donetsk region, where heavy fighting is taking place.
