Political scientist and publicist Andrey Piontkovsky in an interview with UNIAN, spoke about a mini-coup in the bunker of the Kremlin dictator, how today the Russian elite is preparing for a new war inside the Russian Federation.
"Prigozhine has already been sentenced. On the night of January 10-11, a mini-military coup took place in Putin's bunker. Shoigu and Gerasimov came to him and forced him to remove Prigozhin's henchman Surovikin and return Gerasimov to the leadership of all military operations. This is the most significant hardware defeat of Prigozhin and Putin, his first defeat in 23 years in power.
I do not idealize these people at all, and they are all war criminals there. We just have to figure out what's going on with them. After the blitzkrieg's failure, a situation arose in any fascist state after a military defeat. The main question is, who is to blame? Fuhrer or generals? Naturally, Putin had to show that they were generals. He let his two dogs off the leash - Kadyrov and Prigozhin, who attacked the Chief of the General Staff Gerasimov and Defense Minister Shoigu, demanding that they be removed from their posts and sent barefoot to the front. We remember what epithets Prigozhin used to bestow on Gerasimov. But the generals did not wait for Putin to finish them off, they carried out a mini-coup: they forced Surovikin to be removed, and Gerasimov reinstated.
Prigogine's days are numbered. In the atmosphere of the KGB, Prigozhin must be considered ominous by the statement that someone is going to liquidate him. By the way, this has become a very popular narrative. The same Peskov also called the latest US decision to declare PMC Wagner a criminal organization preparing for the liquidation of Prigozhin. So, Prigozhin will be killed.
All his military successes are based on the fact that he laid the corpses of prisoners. Now he ran out of prisoners, so this is the end of Prigozhin."
