The threat of infiltration by sabotage and reconnaissance groups from the north has not disappeared, although there has been a decrease in their activity for some time.

This was stated by the spokesperson of the State Border Guard Service, Andriy Demchenko, commenting during the United News telethon on the recent battle with Russian sabotage group in Sumy region.

"For some time, we observed a decrease in the activity of Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups both in the Sumy and Kharkiv directions, but, as we can see, this threat has not disappeared. The enemy continues to use its sabotage and reconnaissance groups, which plan or want to infiltrate our territory," said Demchenko.

He reminded that on the night of March 7, border guards discovered an Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group in Sumy region and opened firem. Artillery units provided support to the border guards, and the saboteurs retreated.

"We also see that the Russian forces does not cease attempts to use its saboteurs in the Kharkiv region. As long as we have such a neighbor, the threat of sabotage operations will remain," emphasized Demchenko.
