Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak held a meeting with Czech Prime Minister's Advisor for Foreign and Security Policy Tomáš Pojar.

Andriy Yermak highly appreciated the efforts of the Czech government and Prime Minister Petr Fiala personally in the decisive support for our country and the provision of weapons for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He expressed hope that the respective cooperation between Ukraine and the Czech Republic will only strengthen.

The importance of increasing sanctions pressure on Russia was discussed, in particular through the preparation and adoption of the next, seventh package of EU sanctions. In this regard, the results of the Yermak-McFaul international expert group were submitted for consideration in the further preparation of sanctions.

"It is nice to note that 55% of the group's proposals have already been taken into account in practical work on the introduction of sanctions," the Head of the President's Office emphasized.

Special attention was paid during the meeting to the interaction of the two states in European integration, primarily in the context of the priorities of the current Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

Andriy Yermak expressed gratitude to the Czech partners for supporting the EU states' decision to grant Ukraine the status of a candidate for accession. He emphasized that further support from Prague is important for the earliest possible start of the negotiation process regarding Ukraine's accession to the European Union.

The Head of the President's Office informed Tomáš Pojar about Ukraine's practical efforts to prepare effective security guarantees for our country. Andriy Yermak noted that under his leadership and under the co-chairmanship of former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, a special Group on International Security Guarantees was established, the purpose of which is to prepare a framework document on relevant guarantees for Ukraine.
