Anonymous has promised to continue cyberattacks on government websites if the authorities do not stop violence against protesters. The hacker group Anonymous stated that they conducted a series of cyberattacks on Georgian government websites and pages of state-owned media outlets "serving as propaganda channels" in response to police violence against peaceful protesters.

The hackers wrote about this on the social network X.

The hackers clarified that more than 30 Georgian government websites were targeted in the attacks, most of which are currently offline.

Anonymous reiterated their message to Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and pledged to continue cyberattacks on government websites if the authorities do not cease attacking protesters.

"Furthermore, the Kremlin's puppet government in Georgia has implemented Russian "foreign agent" laws, aiming to silence dissent and independent media, as well as target organizations critical of the government," Anonymous wrote.

The hackers emphasized their support for the Georgian people in their struggle for democracy, freedom, and prosperity, and they want Georgia, "free from Russian influence, to support its aspiration for a bright future."

"If your government continues the same standard of using the police to brutally attack protesters, we will respond with even wilder cyberattacks against government websites!," the hackers addressed Kobakhidze.
