Germany is to blame for the fact that the troops of the Russian Federation are now having tactical success in the Luhansk region. The Bundestag did not provide Ukraine with the promised military assistance on time.

Advisor stated this to the Head of the Office of President Alexey Arestovich during a conversation with Russian human rights activist Mark Feygin.

"Let's be honest: Russia is now having a tactical success in Ukraine, which threatens to develop into an operational one in the Lysychansk-Severodonetsk direction. How can this be explained? The pace of lend-lease, which we expected a month ago, did not materialize. Not at the expense of American or British weapons, but at the expense of German," Arestovich said.

He recalled that the weapons did not arrive in Ukraine for the transfer of which the Bundestag voted.

“And if 50 Gepards, 100 Marders, howitzers, etc., arrived, the situation would be far from what it is now. The German side, delaying the transfer of military equipment to us, is indirectly to blame for the fact that is happening at the front," summed up the adviser to the head of the OPU.

The process of transferring the weapons promised by Germany to Ukraine is being delayed due to a misunderstanding between the countries' governments. It was about Gepard anti-aircraft self-propelled guns. Then the exact date of delivery of Gepard to Ukraine was not called.

Also, Aleksey Arestovich reacted emotionally to proposals to Ukraine from some European countries to "share territories" with Russia.

According to him, such "initiatives" are voiced against the backdrop of pressure from the Russian Federation at the front and possible attempts at a new offensive against Kyiv, Chernihiv and Sumy.

Earlier today, Reuters reported that Italy, Hungary, and Cyprus supported the inclusion of a paragraph on the need for peace talks between Ukraine and Russia in the draft final statement of the EU meeting on May 30-31. According to the agency, the initiative was taken by Italy. It was supported only by Hungary and Cyprus, which were critical of the new package of European sanctions against Russia.

As you know, Hungary opposes the oil embargo, and Cyprus is concerned about the ban on the sale of real estate to Russian citizens, Reuters notes.
