Aleksey Arestovich, the adviser to the head of the President's Office, believes that Russia is preparing to go on the offensive in southern Ukraine.
This was discussed in "Feygin Live".
"Donbas has been orphaned. Russian servicemen are leaving Donbas to the south, the Kherson-Zaporizhzhia direction," he said, adding that the forces of the so-called "DPR" and "LPR" remain there.
According to Arestovich, Russian troops may go on the offensive in the south with "a hint of a run to Mykolaiv" in early to mid-August.
"They are moving south from the northeast of Ukraine, the grouping of troops is the main one. ⦠I think they will be ready for the offensive somewhere by August 5-6. Maybe a little earlier, maybe a little later. They will go forward, we will "blizzard". There will be a dashing fight in the style of the civil war of 18-20. There should be a war with elements of maneuvers across the steppe," he said.
According to him, the Russian command simply considers defense unprofitable.
âTachankas will fly across the steppe again, the Cossack drive will be revived, the spirit of Makhno will return, and we will hang them,â Arestovich is sure.
