Prime Minister: UAH 30 million will be directed to Odesa Military Administration for the purchase of diesel for generators

At the meeting on February 7, the government allocated UAH 30 million from the state budget reserve fund to Odesa Regional Government for the purchase of fuel for generators. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this.

According to him, this will make it possible to keep the critical infrastructure in working condition until the repairs are completed.

The Prime Minister noted that, as of now, it has been possible to partially resolve the situation with the electricity supply in Odessa, where last week, an accident occurred at a substation damaged by Russia. Critical infrastructure is restored. People have heat and water.

“Repair works are ongoing 24/7. Thanks to this, people should have light for at least 4-5 hours daily. We are doing everything we can to improve the situation, but let’s be honest, the damage is severe. So far, more than 80 powerful generators have been delivered to Odessa, and their delivery continues. There is an extensive network of Points of Invincibility in the city and district,” said the head of the Government.

Denys Shmyhal also added that the Minister of Energy and the head of Ukrenergo keep everything under personal control and will continue to report on the progress of repairs. He emphasized that the authorities at all levels are doing everything to ensure that Odessa residents have heat, water, and light.
