France does not rule out that it may open a training program for Ukrainian pilots on Western-style fighters. This was stated by French Defense Minister Sébastien Lecornu in an interview with Le Parisien.
He says "there are no taboos on the issue of transferring fighter jets to Ukraine for France."
"Ukraine's request [for the supply of aircraft] is part of the need to protect its skies. Like the air defense systems, where France is the leader, it is part of the same logic: to create a" protective bubble "around the battlefield or cities," the minister said.
At the same time, Lecornu noted that, at the moment, France does not plan to transfer combat aircraft to Ukraine. The minister referred to "very complex logistical and practical issues."
