Russian troops are concentrating their efforts near Pokrovsk on encircling the city, attempting to cut off the logistical routes of Ukrainian defenders.
The UK Ministry of Defence stated this on the social network X,.
It is noted that on February 13, the Russian Ministry of Defense claimed to have captured the village of Vodyane Druhe, located east of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad, near the N-32 highway, which connects Kostiantynivka and Myrnohrad and serves as an important logistical route for Ukrainian defenders.
"Fighting continues in this area, and Ukrainian forces are likely repelling most Russian attacks," the British defense ministry noted.
According to their information, on the western flank, Ukrainian Defense Forces are counterattacking near Kotlyne on the T-04-06 highway and in Pishchane toward Udachne, 12 km southwest of Pokrovsk, trying to impede Russian advances and protect the main supply route.
"The priority of the Russian army's offensive efforts near Pokrovsk is to cut off the logistical routes of Ukrainian defenders and encircle the city. This is costing the Russians heavy losses," the statement reads.
At the same time, data published by the spokesperson of the Khortytsia Operational-Strategic Grouping of Troops indicates that Russian army losses in the Pokrovsk area amounted to up to 7,000 killed in January and at least 15,000 wounded or missing.
