The Russian army, after capturing Avdiivka, will try to continue its advance to the west. However, it is unlikely to have the combat readiness required.

The Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom reports on Twitter.

According to the summary, last week Russian forces took control of Avdiivka, as well as the coking plant located north of the city, which has been the site of fierce fighting since October 2023 and has been on the front line since 2014.

According to British intelligence, Ukrainian forces have withdrawn to defensive positions west of Avdiivka.

"It is likely that the Russian forces lack the combat readiness to immediately exploit the capture of Avdiivka, and will require a period of rest and refit. In the coming weeks, Russia will likely seek to gradually expand its territorial control beyond Avdiivka," the Ministry of Defense of Britain said.
