In July 2024, Russian ground troops continued their offensive in central Donetsk region.
This is reported by the UK Ministry of Defence on X (Twitter).
"The Russian ground forces made steady advances westwards, taking control of several villages and moving closer to the logistics hub of Pokrovsk," the update states.
According to British intelligence, Russian troops also advanced north towards the city of New York, which has been on the front line since 2014. Intense fighting is ongoing between the Russian army and the Ukrainian Armed Forces over the city.
