Due to a nighttime Russian forces strike on the fire station in Odessa, during which two rescuers were injured, a criminal proceeding has been initiated. Preliminary reports indicate that the Russians attacked with aviation missiles of the Kh-59 type.
This was reported on Telegram by the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office.
"According to the investigation, on the evening of October 31, 2024, the armed forces of the Russian Federation launched missile strikes on Odessa. Preliminary information suggests that the strike was carried out using aviation missiles of the 'Kh-59' type. Under the procedural guidance of the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation has been initiated regarding violations of the laws and customs of war (Part 1, Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)," the message states.
The prosecutor's office noted that as a result of the attack, two rescuers were injured and were hospitalized. The Russian forces strike also damaged the administrative building of the fire station, fire tankers, and civilian vehicles in the parking area nearby.
The examination of the attack site is ongoing, and a complete list of destruction and damages is being established. Prosecutors are documenting the consequences of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies at the scene.
